Monica Doubal

MS Director + MS/US Spanish

Monica was born in Acapulco, Mexico, and lived in many different cities within the country while learning local traditions.

Monica teaches Spanish because language is a bridge to understanding another culture—and understanding other cultures changes how you see the world. That belief comes from lived experience, and informs her role as Director of the Middle School.

Born and raised in Mexico, she has spent her life navigating between languages, communities, and cultures. She speaks Spanish fluently, understands the rhythms of Latin traditions, and knows intimately what it means to be the translator between two worlds.

In her classroom, students learn to communicate across differences. They taste new foods, explore traditions, and hear stories from real people about real life.

As Director of Middle School, Monica extends this philosophy beyond language class. She shapes the entire middle school experience around the belief that students thrive when they feel known, seen, and part of a genuine community.

She has worked as a translator and legal interpreter, helping Spanish-speaking families navigate immigration law. She has tutored students since 2010. She brings not just language expertise and educational leadership, but genuine compassion for her community. Monica lives by a simple principle: if you cannot find a kind person, be one.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Hospitality, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, Merida. Teaching experience spans public school, private immersion programs, and private tutoring since 2010.
