What excites Chelsea about being a counselor is that it combines therapeutic practices with the everyday hustle and bustle of school life. As a counselor, she loves to provide a safe, confidential space for students to express themselves free of judgement while also being able to teach various age groups that keep her on her toes! Chelsea earned her Master’s in Counselor Education from The Citadel and is so thankful to be able to help students utilize the tools and resources to help them be successful. Chelsea teaches with group work, bibliotherapy, creative projects, different forms of media, active classroom discussions, and personal reflections. Chelsea also is overseeing the job shadow program, administering standardized testing this year, and is a Darkness to Light training facilitator. She lives by a quote from Aesop, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
