US Annual Overnight Full-Day College Exploration – to University of Georgia – depart Th. after school at 3:45pm and return 2:00pm Saturday (1/26-1/28)
Friday Itinerary:
Upper School mini-trip to Georgia: at UGA from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Led by Bennett Jones and Jason Kreutner. Departmental explorations of Exercise Science / Health & Human Performance / Athletic Training / Nutrition and History (will meet with Dr. Claudio Saunt – US Humanities read his book about forced removal of Native Americans in the Southeast. This links to last year’s Dallas/OK trip that visited the Chickasaw and Cherokee Nations and our history of having visited 8 separate Native American tribes/nations across America). Student-led tour of the campus and also a Special Collections Library tour. Then session for Insights into UGA, comparisons with C of C and more — Meeting with Executive Vice President of Student Affairs, Victor Wilson (VW held the same role at the College of Charleston and was a founding board member of USL, serving through 2012).
